Why It Is Safe to Go to Outpatient Surgery Centers Despite the Pandemic
The threat of the COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the country and the entire world into fear and uncertainty. With everyone concerned about their health and wellbeing, patients who are suffering from other diseases that are not COVID-related might decide to forego treatment altogether and just wait for the pandemic to end.
Although everyone is advised to take necessary precautions to stop the spread of the virus, patients who have other ailments and concerns are still encouraged to seek medical care. Our outpatient surgery center in Raleigh understands that the public needs healthcare services to be accessible now, more than ever. For this reason, we make sure that our facilities are safe and available for those who need them.
Here are some reasons why going to the Raleigh surgery center’s outpatient department is safe and nothing to be anxious about:
1. Safety precautions and protocols are observed all the time
At Raleigh Orthopedic Surgery Center’s (ROSC) outpatient department, our clinic and healthcare staff are compliant with the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We practice strict and scheduled disinfecting and sanitizing procedures of the entire facility.
Since there is a surge in the number of patients with flu-like illnesses and respiratory symptoms, we are reducing face-to-face contact with potential carriers. Patients who have been exposed to COVID carriers are highly encouraged to reschedule their appointments.
We also have a screening process in place, where patients are asked a few questions upon their arrival. For everyone’s safety, patients who show symptoms of respiratory disease will not be allowed to proceed to consultation. Instead, as per the World Health Organization (WHO), these patients are advised to contact their primary care physician.
We also firmly implement social distancing in our clinics to prevent disease transmission. To achieve this, we limit the number of patients in our patient care areas. No more than two adults are allowed at any one time.
We also provide disinfecting solutions, such as alcohol, to common areas, so patients and staff can decontaminate themselves and prevent the spread of the virus.
2. The medical staff are healthy and available
The presence of a pandemic doesn’t cancel out other diseases. Other medical cases that need treatment must still be given proper care.
Our dedicated medical and healthcare staff are the very reason why we can still continue to provide services in these challenging times. That’s why we ensure that they are physically and mentally healthy and fit to handle consultations. All our staff wear personal protective equipment to protect themselves and their patients. We also look out for their general wellbeing.
3. The target patients are orthopedic cases
Raleigh surgery center’s facilities cater to orthopedic cases only, which means that there is a smaller chance that our patients will be exposed to COVID inside the facility.
Staff and management of ROSC’s outpatient surgery center in Raleigh continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our community. We also make sure that we are on top of the latest news, updates, and guidelines released by the CDC.
