Coronavirus Update from Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center

Dear Raleigh Orthopaedic Family,

Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center recognizes there is a great deal of concern and uncertainty to our community, country, and world surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus).  As schools close or move to distance learning and all sporting events and large gatherings in the country cancel or postpone, we feel it is important for us all to learn the facts about COVID-19 and to practice appropriate protective measures while avoiding unnecessary fear and panic.  The CDC has extensive information available on-line, which is being updated daily.  They have released a set of simple guidelines for the workplace, school, and home that will help to keep you protected and to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Here is a link to those guidelines:

During this time, we ask that all patients or their immediate families who have had a known exposure to the Coronavirus or who demonstrate symptoms of the flu, respiratory illness or symptoms of COVID-19, please contact Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center to reschedule your surgical procedure.

There will be a screening process upon arrival where a member of our team will ask you a few questions.

Additionally, we are limiting the number of individuals coming into our facilities. Visitor restrictions for Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center include:

  • No more than 2 adults may be in any patient care area. (The patient and one other person.) If you have already made plans to have more than one visitor on the day of your surgery you must contact Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center at (919) 719-3070 for approval.
  • No one with symptoms of the flu, respiratory illness or symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to visit any of our facilities.
  • No one who has had direct exposure to someone with a known infection of COVID-19.

If you are having any symptoms, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending that you contact your primary care physician rather than going to an Urgent Care or Emergency room. If you do not have a primary care physician, Raleigh Orthopaedic is providing you with two resources that you may contact:

  • REX Healthlink: (888) 850-2684
  • RelyMD: (855) 955-0948

At Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center, we practice scheduled hospital grade disinfection of all areas including non-clinical areas during business hours.  All clinical areas at Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center will continue to be sanitized with hospital grade disinfectant between every patient.  If you have any questions regarding current guidelines, please visit the CDC website, or contact Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center staff with any questions. We appreciate your compliance in order to protect the health and safety of our patients, communities and staff. Until guidelines change, we will continue to provide excellent orthopaedic care to our current and future patients in the safest environment possible.

Sincerely,

The Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center Team
